Artist Info

LP Giobbi "Dead House"

Widely known for her bass-rattling house beats and electrifying live performances, she is a multifaceted creative and entrepreneur. In addition to her work as a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and DJ, she is the North American Music Director for W Hotels, co-owner of Animal Talk (a hybrid publishing company, record label, and artist collective), and founder of FEMME HOUSE. As an ardent feminist and advocate for gender equality, FEMME HOUSE is an educational platform, community, and 501(c)(3) created to address the lack of representation and equity in electronic music by empowering women and non-binary people in the technical areas of music.

In Jan of 2021, LP was offered to play at Playing In The Sand which unfortunately got canceled. Leading up to the event, she spent months making 50+ edits incorporating music of the Grateful Dead after getting her hands on stems to play for this community, the community that taught her the importance of live music.

"I am a Deadhead kid who was raised by Deadheads and have inherited their collection of Grateful Dead t-shirts which is the only thing I wear when I DJ. During the pandemic I started streaming consistently and regularly which forced me to dive deeper into DJing. I started looping piano parts and bass parts and drum loops and throwing acapellas over all of it and I realized I was acting almost like a one woman Jam band but with electronic sounds and DJ gear. It became very full circle when I got my hands on some Grateful Dead stems and started live remixing their tracks as house tracks. It's been a wild journey exploring house music in this way and seeing the through line between jam band music and electronic dance music!"

LP’s 'Dead House' set is based in house music, with a few full Grateful Dead Reimagines. She then re-warps and sometimes re-pitches different Grateful Dead guitar stems and vocal stems to fit over different house beats that she can use in an improvisational way (sequencing and looping) throughout the set.

Rivka Ruth

Becky Chinman AKA Rivka Ruth is a Brooklyn-based DJ.
Playfully sliding through the dance-scapes of disco, house, and techno, Rivka Ruth sits within a modern continuum of DJ’s whose sound can’t be contained to one particular style.

A narrative-driven DJ, Rivka Ruth crafts each mix as a sensory- journey, adventuring through the jubilant, dark, introspective and exuberant stratospheres that is dance music. She recently collaborated with Peter Anspach, of the band Goose, for a genre-bending after-party set, following Goose’s 5-night residency at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY.

A recent graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Rivka Ruth began DJing as a creative outlet while pursuing her architecture degree. Her initial goal was to provide a service to her peers; a means to escape, to relax and let loose. However, this soon turned into a community affair with Rivka Ruth curating sonic experiences in community spaces, speakeasies, and artist studios in Providence, RI and more recently, in Brooklyn, NY.

Rivka Ruth is also a passionate activist, co-founding the non-profit PARC, with Peter Anspach in 2021. PARC, a project exploring presence, sustainability, and equanimity, has raised funds and awareness for Greenpeace USA, an environmental non-profit spearheading the climate crisis fight. Through PARC, the two artists collaborate on each clothing drop, aiming to introduce a critical message into a circulation network that is unsuspecting.
