Artist Info
The Untamed
The Untamed is a soul and roll band fronted by Callista Lange and founded in 2019. A Texas native, Lange has been described by Time Out Chicago as “the back room ghost of a classic rock chanteuse”. The music of The Untamed is a love letter to artists, such as Tina Turner, CCR, Etta James, Otis Redding,The Rolling Stones, and The 13th Floor Elevators. In 2020, they were slated to open for Macy Gray, and were selected as Lightning 100’s Local Artist of the Week for their single, “Run Tell the Children” which also made the top 200 songs of 2020 at the station later that year. The band includes Callista Lange, Matthew Curtis, Trey Bourgeois, Tobin Dale, and Kiran Gupta, whose live performances blaze with soul and update classic roots rock with a modern edge. Casey Smith of Lightning100 says of the group “The Untamed are the real thing. That living, jumping, fire breathing rock and roll thing where “peace and love” meets “broken whiskey bottle.” Their debut EP, There Goes Your Tenderness, has received national radio attention and airplay, including local favorite Lightning 100. They are based in Nashville, TN.
