The James Brown Dance Party: The Funkiest All-Star Tribute In Show Business

There is no experience like the James Brown Dance Party.  There are plenty of James Brown Tributes that offer stale versions of James Brown songs with they typical James Brown impersonators, but there is only one James Brown Dance Party.

The high energy performances offer an authentic experience that respects the legacy of James Brown while pushing the boundaries of funk forward by incorporating both musicians that toured with James Brown and distinguished musicians from around the world that have legacies of their own.

The result is an all out dance party with musicians and fans alike sharing in the love of James Brown and the booty shakin’ effects of the funkiest music ever written.

Musicians that have joined the James Brown Dance Party have included JB legends including Fred Wesley, Clyde Stubblefield and Fred Thomas while incorporating well known musicians from bands that have included Vulfpeck, Lettuce, Kool & The Gang, Trombone Shorty, The Dap Kings, The Vanguard, Bootsy Collins Band, Trey Anatasio Band, Snarky Puppy, Odesza, Big Gigantic, The Naughty Professor, George Porter Jr. of The Meters, and so many other great.

The Consecutives

The Consecutives are a Modern Funk band from Brooklyn, NY who write intentionally simple music that thrives on improvising. Influenced by American music between the late 1950s to mid 1970s, pieces of Rhythm and Blues, Modern Jazz, Funk and Soul can be heard from song to song and witnessed during their live show. Compositionally their music uses traditional jazz forms and repeating funk ostinatos as frameworks with an always present backbeat to keep the listener’s head nodding and foot tapping.
