SNACKTIME

SNACKTIME is Philadelphia’s revered seven-piece brass-heavy band with funk, punk, jazz, pop, and R&B influences. The band captures the soul of Philly, spreading a message of unity and love, while placing an equal emphasis on music, food, and community.

SNACKTIME was created out of necessity at the height of COVID, performing free shows in Rittenhouse Square and quickly amassing local and national notoriety. They have grown to become a symbol of positivity and cathartic release, showcasing the richness of Philadelphia’s music community from neighborhood festivals to 76ers halftime shows, and growing to performance slots at major festivals such as Firefly, Peach Fest, XPonential Festival, and the Adult Swim Block Party. They’ve been featured by NPR Music, Good Morning America, and The Today Show. Additionally, SNACKTIME develops its own food/music and community events, including curation of all entertainment at the Philadelphia Flower Show and collaborations with world class chefs such as Mike Solomonov, Jose Garces, and Michael Ferreri.

SNACKTIME is the heartbeat of Philadelphia, constantly giving back to charitable organizations throughout the city and placing an emphasis on the city’s youth culture. The band’s appearances in 2023 will include performances at Sea.Hear.Now, Life Is Beautiful, and Sound on Sound.

Max Swan

A native of the Philadelphia area, Max Swan’s earliest forays into music revolved around jazz. Max is a classically-trained saxophonist who has studied under Saturday Night Live band leader Lenny Pickett, and has emerged as an accomplished vocalist and hip hop producer. Max’s unique skillset – coupled with his innate ability to break genre boundaries – has resulted in a distinctive “electrosoul” sound that blends the musicality and improvisational spirit of jazz with elements of 21st Century soul, harmony-rich R&B, and contemporary hip hop.

Taylor Kelly

Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Taylor Kelly is now a fixture in the vibrant Philadelphia music scene further honing her introspective take on jazz, soul, and funk. She combines her smooth, powerful, technically-informed voice with a full horn section, addictive hip hop and electronic beats, and complex arrangements she writes herself with help from long-time collaborator and trombonist Mike Rilli. Both a vocalist and trumpet player, her sound is a dynamic blend of several established genres: she melds the improvisational looseness of jazz, the rhythmic earworms of funk, and the moving resonance of soul to carve out a niche all her own. Kelly names Stevie Wonder, Chet Baker, Roy Hargrove, Art Farmer, and Erykah Badu as influences, integrating strong melodic contour and intricate harmonies into lyrically personal and sonically anthemic tracks.

Kelly is a Berklee College of Music graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Music. Along with her band, she has released four albums and performed hundreds of live shows, sharing the stage with Moonchild, Becca Stevens, Monophonics, Neal Francis, Bahamadia, and Georgia Anne Muldrow. She has amassed over half a million listens for her song “California” on Spotify, and is committed to continuing this exploration of music’s ability to incite passion and self-actualization with her EP,  All I Need, which released in February of 2022.
