City of The Sun

The experiential music of City of the Sun is the sound you didn’t know you were missing. New York City’s powerhouse trio flip the perception of instrumental music, attracting a whole new generation to the genre.

Formed in 2011, City of the Sun features guitarists John Pita, Avi Snow, and percussionist Zach Para. The band’s sound has an array of influences including indie rock, American folk, flamenco, and blues; it’s been called worldly, cinematic, a mix between Rodrigo y Gabriela and Explosions in the Sky.

COS has since been established as significant players in the post-rock sphere. They’ve sold out New York’s top indie venues Brooklyn Steel, Irving Plaza, Bowery Ballroom and Gramercy Theater; toured with Peter Bjorn & John, G.Love, STS9, and Thievery Corporation; were featured emerging artists at Panorama NYC, Billboard’s Hot 100, Firefly, Bottle Rock Napa music festivals; and scored “The C Word” documentary soundtrack (directed by Meghan O’Hara and narrated by Morgan Freeman).

After completing two European tours including major sold-out shows in Athens, Greece, the band released UNTITLED EP. Lead track “Perfect Instance” has gained 18 million Spotify streams to date, contributing to over 70 million plays on the platform overall.

Nakama

As a staple in the Philadelphia indie rock scene, Nakama is an instrumental rock quartet that infuses a progressive flair with powerful and dramatic compositions. Their live shows will take you on an adventure as it flows through soaring peaks to sentimental atmospheres. Nakama formed in 2018 and has released two EPs: Golden City (2019) and The People Around You (2020). Their recent solo release Flow States Vol: 1 (2021) highlights their ability to improvise at a moment's notice when the moment calls.

Ian Mayer (Mur) is a progressive metal guitarist extraordinaire and also specializes in classical acoustic guitar performance. His compositions and exquisite ambient layers set the tone for Nakama's aesthetic. Drummer Sal Galati has been the driving pulse of rock bands for the past 20 years. His tasteful rock/fusion drumming is precise and powerful, he thrives in moments of improvisation. song production, and all things "chom". Adam Nash (Nur) is behind the synths and keys and sometimes you might mistake his solos for ripping guitar. His obsession with video game music and japanese fusion infuses Nakama with an introspective epicness that is deeply moving. David Rosen (Dur) is on electric bass. The rumble from his stack will send vibrations through your core, as he propels the ensemble with technical and aggressive playing.
