A Humiliating Kick In The Crotch

While recording their sophomore record in 2009, secluded on a peach farm in upstate New York, a few of Ra Ra Riot's members spontaneously began a totally new project. Singer Wes Miles, bassist Mathieu Santos, then-drummer Gabriel Duquette and Front-of-House engineer/co-producer/secret guitarist Andrew Maury considered their mutual obsession with The Police and wondered: What if we started a Police cover band? That night, they played through several songs, had a blast… and then nothing happened.

Almost exactly five years later, the dream finally coalesced into reality: A Humiliating Kick In The Crotch made their debut, performing a set of Police songs spanning the band's entire career and catalogue at Brooklyn's Union Hall. In the years since that legendary first show, Crotch has only performed a handful of times (including at Outside Lands in 2016), and is now coming back to NYC ten years after it all started for a special performance at Brooklyn Bowl.
