Zaven + Melissa Jones + Haile Supreme

Zaven is a vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Los Angeles, California. He believes in the power of improvisation as an access point to greater self discovery and connectivity in community. Improvisation forces us to be in the moment; it forces us to believe in ourselves and the work we’ve put in to get us here. Growing up as a hip hop lyricist, poet and music producer, Zaven uses improvisation extensively in his work. Honed through the study of jazz, Zaven uses a combination of composed and freestyle songwriting, creating intricate lyrics and beats, as well as leading ensembles, all in the moment.

Melissa Jones is a singer/songwriter from Oakland Ca. She will be displaying on her channel her musical style and cadence which is reminiscent of improvised jazz with an eclectic fusion of neo-soul, hip-hop and r&b. Melissa channels her energy through free-form scatting and melodic rhythms. Her songwriting process is described as a stream of consciousness of melodic/musical arrangements that form instantaneously.

Blending Neo-Soul, diaspora rhythms and the rub-a-dub spirit of reggae music, Haile Supreme has crafted a unique style that honors the past yet sounds like the future. After recently opening up for Oprah Winfrey on her 2020 Arena tour with Daybreaker, this Brooklyn based artist has earned his stripes as a true Shaman of Showmanship!
