Adult Talent Show

Join us for The Talent Show [for adults], hosted and emceed by Emily Chertow of @journalingclasses for an evening of play, joy, and celebration. 
This gathering is an invitation to lean into your spontaneity and silly talents to step out of your comfort zone and make room for joy. Everyone’s a winner at this Talent Show.
Picture it as a space to come together, stay open, and embrace all the different parts of who you are and what your peers are passionate about.

We welcome you to participate and showcase your craft, hobbies, passions, and interests! This playful evening will leave you feeling full of bliss, connected to community, and ready for the weekend.

You’re invited to show up as a guest, but we also encourage you to sign up and share your talent! Come solo or bring a friend — all are welcome.

What is The Talent Show?

This Talent Show is a place to simply show up as you are — with an open mind and an open heart.

We’re holding space for the community to “get on stage” and share something they’re curious, passionate, or excited about. It doesn’t have to be that deep — just show up and try your best!

You’re welcome to make us laugh, cheer, smile, cry, or show us something new. Dance, sing, share poetry, perform comedy, do a magic trick, or anything else that sparks joy. The sky’s the limit — the world is your oyster.

Evening Flow

6:00–7:15 PM — Arrivals & Connection
Meet new friends, reconnect with old ones, and ease into the evening with good energy and community vibes.
Enjoy light bites and drinks from Brooklyn Bowl’s kitchen.

Enter raffles for giveaways from cool local brands and businesses.

8:00–9:30 PM — The Talent Show
The show begins! Your host and emcee, Emily, will guide the evening as community members take the stage to share their talents and be celebrated.

Man surprises and delightful moments!

If time allows, we’ll close with an open-mic moment, an invitation for anyone feeling inspired to share spontaneously.

9:30 PM — Closing & Community Cheers
Giveaway winners announced, final notes shared, and a collective celebration to send everyone off glowing.

About Your Host

Emily Chertow (she/her) is the founder of @journalingclasses, a Brooklyn-based creative brand focused on mindfulness, connection, and play. She’s a community builder, educator, and facilitator who has journaled with over 20,000 people through workshops and immersive events. Emily is passionate about mental health, human connection, and the power of putting pen to paper.
