35-atxxl Growing up in Hawaii, rising reggae star Mike Love was surrounded by music — a musical family spanning generations and a healthy love of classical piano and then ’90s grunge. And all of it informs his work, which is the kind of music that delivers a message and gets you moving. His second full-length, Love Will Find a Way (stream it below), came out earlier this month. And it’s clear that Love (below, doing “Let It Rain” for Audiotree TV) is bringing positive vibrations to the people: “Positive music that has messages of spiritual and social change can be a beacon for them in the darkness,” he says. “That’s really the inspiration for all I do — healing. We need it now more than ever, myself as much as the next person. The music heals me as much as it does those I play for.” Out on the road for a month in support of the new music, Love closes out his tour on Friday night at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas. New Age Tribe, a reggae seven-piece outfit, open the show.
