Deftones. But there was definitely no guessing game as to whose distinctive voice filled the sold-out venue.
Chino Moreno, known for his seductive yet powerful vocals, was accompanied by his five talented bandmates. Beginning just the way the audience wanted, with high energy and an impressive stage presence, the Sacramento Calif., band played some of their hardest-hitting tracks, opening with a couple of old jams followed by
“Diamond Eyes” and songs off their most recent studio album,
Koi No Yokan. Deftones played a long set, including tracks from older albums like
Around the Fur and
White Pony. It was a hell of a show. And although I wish I’d gotten a closer view, it still would’ve been an amazing performance even with my eyes sewn shut.
