MisterWives

An intensely personal reflection on growth in unexpected places, MisterWives’ latest album SUPERBLOOM marks a moment of major transformation for frontwoman Mandy Lee and her bandmates: Etienne Bowler (drums), William Hehir (bass), Marc Campbell (guitar), and Mike Murphy (saxophone). The New York City-bred band’s third full-length, the 19-track epic finds MisterWives greatly expanding their already-adventurous sound, introducing new textures and colors to their magnetic form of indie-pop. On the album’s soul-stirring title track, MisterWives close out SUPERBLOOM with a moment of pure triumph and a profound sense of possibility. With its chorus including a lyric Lee later adopted as a mantra in times of self-doubt (“I deserve congratulations, ’cause I came out the other side”), “SUPERBLOOM” draws much of its power from its graceful arrangement of so many potent elements: soulful horns and luminous piano melodies, hard-hitting rhythms and gospel-choir harmonies. That joy ultimately infuses all of SUPERBLOOM, instilling even the most anguished songs with an irrepressible radiance and warmth. And in sharing personal struggle with so much honesty and open-heartedness, MisterWives hope to spark a similar courage in each listener. In early 2022 the band partnered their record label Resilient Little Records with Photo Finish to release the double single Easy and Where Do We Go From Here. After putting out the new music they embarked on their biggest tour to date, headlining venues such as New York’s Summer Stage in Central Park and The Anthem in Washington DC. MisterWives are currently working on their next studio project and will be releasing more new music soon.

joan

joan (Alan Benjamin Thomas and Steven Rutherford) have spent the past few years building their musical empire, single by single, tour date by tour date, with the past three years being landmarks for them. Their debut EP, 2019’s ‘portra’,  followed by 2020’s ‘cloudy EP’ and the reimagined re-releases of many of those songs into the “partly cloudy EP” that same year led them to the most recent ‘wave era’ which saw new singles of their trademark alt-pop bops, tinged with the sweetest hint of 90’s R&B influences landing on the first Thursday of each month throughout the majority of 2021 alternating into the building of two dueling EP’s individually titled ‘hi’ and ‘bye’ also described collectively as “wave” They are excited to soon announce the anticipated next chapter of release plans.

These consistent releases have established joan as a constant streaming artist with well over 90 million streams and over a million listeners a month across streaming platforms.

The guys have spent much of the past 3 years (save for a specific period in 2020 we dont like to talk about) on the road with major US and international tours supporting the likes of The Aces, COIN, Bloc Party and Jeremy Zucker, as well as playing to fans across Asia with huge headline shows and festivals in the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong.  Early 2020 saw them playing to sold out crowds across the US on their first headline tour. Their virtual cloudy release show in August 2020 boasted thousands of ticket sales from fans who tuned into their livestream.
