This is the fourth time dj.henri from opens for Antibalas. dj.henri specializes in Afro-beat, that jazzed-up musical style created by legendary Fela Kuti. His podcast Radio Africa Online Mixes enjoys over 40 Terabytes of traffic every year, and tonight he celebrates the premiere of his brand-new Afro-beat podcast episode. He has opened for some of the biggest names in Afro-beat, including Seun Kuti, Tony Allen, and Femi Kuti (twice). dj.henri spins at venues across Manhattan and Brooklyn, including The Apollo Theater, B.B. King’s, Joe’s Pub, (le) poisson rouge, SOB’s, and many more. dj.henri is the World Music Institute’s go-to DJ for its African music shows and also the creator of Radio Africa Online, the longest-running station playing African and Caribbean music online.
