Join us in Brooklyn on June 23 to celebrate the release of "Buy This Fracking Album" with an incredible Anti-Fracking concert and release party! The event will feature musicians Amy Helm, Marco Benevento, Michael Glabicki, DJ Logic, Mike + Ruthy, Kristen Graves, and more all coming out to spread the word about the dangers of fracking. This event and album aim to raise awareness and funding for the Anti-Fracking movement to help ensure that our drinking water is not completely fracked. Fracking harms our environment, our rivers, streams, aquifers, air quality, and our communities and we intend to #BanFrackingEverywhere!
You can help out while you rock out! Bring healthy non-perishables for people and pets. What to bring? A list of the most needed foods can be found at www.rockCanroll.org.

The 36-year old artist took a major step forward with the release of his 2012 album, TigerFace. The ten-track collection is painted in a myriad of sonic colors, shimmering with acoustic piano, synths and analog keyboards, while the songs are seemingly conceptualized from every wisp of melody that’s ever tickled his ear.
In 2014, Benevento returned to the studio to record his latest work with producer Richard Swift whose resume includes The Shins, Foxygen and Tennis. Together, they focused their attention on a collection of news songs Benevento had written that expand upon his lush instrumental piano rock to include vocals. The album, entitled Swift, will be released September 16 on Royal Potato Family.
As anybody who’s seen Marco Benevento perform can attest, with eyes closed, smile wide across his face and fingers free-flowing across the keys, the pianist is a satellite to the muse. With a devout and growing fan-base, Benevento is an artist whose story is only beginning to unfold.
Since his emergence in the early nineties amidst the Bronx hip-hop scene, the New York City based deejay has been amassing a veritable mountain of collaborations, including full fledged bands with members of BLUES TRAVELER (THE JOHN POPPER PROJECT FEATURING DJ LOGIC), a trio with STEVE MOLITZ & FREEKBASS (HEADTRONICS) & a Global Jazz Band with Jason Miles (GLOBAL NOIZE), along with other collaborations with artists ranging from the likes of: MEDESKI MARTIN AND WOOD, CHRISTIAN MCBRIDE, O.A.R., CARLY SIMON, MARCUS MILLER, JACK JOHNSON, VERNON REID, WARREN HAYNES, CHARLIE HUNTER, JACK DeJOHNETTE, JOHN MAYER, BEN HARPER, MOS DEF and THE ROOTS, to name but a few.
DJ LOGIC and his role as an electronic-music ambassador keeps him at the top of his game. Whether the scratch artist instructs tablas to flirt with drum 'n' bass (such as on his NINA SIMONE and BILLY HOLIDAY remixes found on Sony Legacy's Remixed and Reimagined volumes) , or while meshing free styling MC's with Afro-Cuban rhythms (such as on 'Share Worldwide Funk' - a remix produced for JACK DeJOHNETTE and Golden Beams Collected, Volume 1 ) , LOGIC can always be found paying homage to his predecessors while contributing his vision to the deejay genre.
While the context of his work may vary, DJ LOGIC'S spinning skills are definitely beyond reproach. He works with a phenomenal roster of invited guests, and he knows how to pick his collaborators as well as his samples. With a growing catalogue of recordings under his belt, DJ LOGIC'S supreme musicianship and eclectic tastes will allow him to journey wherever an infectious groove may take him.
Now, over a decade into a career
with Rusted Root, Michael is ready to explore roads less traveled. What began as an opening act for Rusted Root shows, Michael's solo tunes are beginning a new life completely independent from the successful
"It's a little bit more out and in your face," said Michael about his new sound "It's not so jolly and community oriented It's more intimate material."
More intimate and appealing to an even larger audience. Michael's writing is evolving like the living project that it is. In order to more clearly identify his solo endeavors, he has separated from his moniker with Rusted Root and taken the name Michael Ki. The name, as well as the sound is a new entity and while it may be rooted in his past endeavors, it is clearly a new musical phenomenon.
Mike + Ruthy can hold an intimate audience in the palm of their hands, and then when it's festival season it's time to crank it up a notch and expand the band. An Americana mix of bass, drums and pedal steel add swirl and stomp, making their set even more powerful, and fun for the big stage.
A beautiful, live, duo record and a fresh, full-band, studio album are currently in the works for release in 2014 and 2015 respectively. They also have some solo work developing as Ruthyuke and Ruthless Mike. Stay tuned.
