Erika Spring & Annie Hart (of Au Revoir Simone)
Erika Spring & Annie Hart (of Au Revoir Simone)
The Brooklyn indie pop group Au Revoir Simone features Heather D'Angelo (vocals/drum machine/keyboard), Erika Forster (vocals/keyboard), and Annie Hart (vocals/keyboard). Borrowing their name from a minor character in the Tim Burton comedy Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, the synth-centric group came together in late 2003 as a casual keyboard club; learning cover songs and making up new ones, sharing their life stories and having fun with sound. They played shows all around Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan in DIY spaces, apartments and bars. In 2005, Au Revoir Simone issued their debut album, Verses of Comfort, Assurance & Salvation. It was self-released in the United States and appeared on the Moshi Moshi label throughout Europe. Additionally, the song "Through the Backyards" was included in the season finale of Grey's Anatomy that spring, boosting the trio's profile. Au Revoir Simone's second album, The Bird of Music, was released one year later and led the way to extensive touring throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia and a European support tour with one of their favorite bands, AIR. The trio's third album, Still Night, Still Light, was produced by Thom Monahan (Vetiver, Devendra Banhardt, Lavender Diamond) and self released in spring of 2009. They supported the album with another year of touring and festival gigs as well as many more movie and television placements and collaborations with local and international fashion designers (Agnes b., Betsey Johnson, Kate Spade). In late 2013, they released their fourth album. Co-produced by the trio and Jorge Elbrecht (Violens, Ariel Pink), Move in Spectrums was issued on legendary producer Richard Gottehrer's label, Instant Records. 2013-14 took the band back to Europe, Japan, southeast Asia, across the U.S. and South America and to their home away from home, Paris, for a magical collaboration with Etienne Daho at the famous Olympia Music Hall.

Little Daylight
Little Daylight
The indie pop trio Little Daylight have been spending most of their time making remixes of everyone from Passion Pit to Penguin Prison, but now they're striking out in their own right with an excellent new single, "Overdose," and an accompanying video that suits the track's bubbly, late-night vibe, as the band's members take to some darkened streets with flashlights to light their way. It's got the deep bass throb and glossy instrumentals of Icona Pop but some of Sky Ferreira's melancholy, too.
The Lower 48
The Lower 48
Sarah! Ben! Nick!
Born and partly raised in your backyard, comes the highly mysterious pop outfit named The Lower 48! Hailing from 3 major cities this 3-piece brings new life to the best decade since music. A turn of events and a twist of fate dropped these kids on Portland's doorstep in the summer of 2011. Vintage rhythm, bass, and catchy vocals being the only home the vagabonds knew, it was a smooth transition to the West for these operators. Between making audiences twist and shout, wearing ties, and a boatload of recording, the band looks ahead to an exciting 2013.
