Passafire
Passafire
On Passafire’s sixth studio release, Longshot, the Savannah, GA based rock outfit gives a testimony to following dreams, inspired by people, places, and experiences Passafire has shared since forming as a band. The group’s four members continue chasing their passion despite being told many times that “Making it as a musician is a long-shot,” a piece of advice that inspired this album and its title. Longshot takes its listeners through a full spectrum of emotions, telling stories of heartbreak, new beginnings, overcoming personal struggles, finding truths, discovering new places, and getting older, all weaved into Passafire’s genre-defying mix of reggae, hard rock, hip hop, and anything else that turns the group on musically.

Passafire was formed in Savannah, GA, in 2003 by Ted Bowne and Nick Kubley, and have built a strong reputation within the U.S. reggae scene through relentless touring with fellow band members Mike DeGuzman and Will Kubley. Bowne doesn’t mind the grueling schedule and adds, “Touring is the best way to keep the buzz about the band going. What keeps it fun and exciting is the people we meet and places we get to see. We are in a new city every day so there’s always something to go see or do.” They continue to be a larger part of the U.S. reggae scene, even though musically they are often far apart from many of their peers in the genre, with a growing emphasis on alternative and progressive rock elements within their songs.
The Retrolites
The Retrolites
he Retrolites are made up of five talented musicians hailing from Las Vegas, Nev. They all share a strong passion for two things: Motown classics and reggae/ska music. These men put their artistic minds together and created a band that covers Oldies but with an upbeat sound that will have you movin' and groovin' at any live performance. The band formed in early 2014 with members that have been in the Las Vegas music scene over the past decade such as Goldfish Don't Bunce, Over The Line, One Pin Short, and the Remedies. Each individual puts their own sweat and tears into the arrangements and improvisation by striving to bridge together bands that play their own material with cover bands that play older tunes. The members keep busy in Las Vegas playing gigs at various locations throughout the Vegas Valley such as Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas, Hard Rock on The Strip, and even all over Downtown Las Vegas. The Retrolites have also performed with national touring acts that route through the city. Being able to cater to different audiences with their versatility, the group has been able to perform with bands such as The Wailers, War, The Slackers, The Aggrolites, The Expanders, & more. It's always a great time for people of all ages to enjoy. Aside from their scheduled shows, the band have also been able to cater to private and charity events of all varieties. The band's mission statement is to always give the best show they have ever performed; with hard work and dedication, the band always strive to give the most memorable show the crowd has ever witnessed. The guys keep things fresh by switching up their set at every show, so fans never see the same show twice. Ultimately, the band's goal is to be able to record an EP of their favorite arrangements so far and eventually dive into composing original music that pay tribute to old school sounds while in the present time.
