Zion I
Zion I
This duo of genre-bender pride has made a name for itself on the Bay Area scene by successfully mixing spiritualism and hip-hop. Oakland's MC Zumbi and DJ/producer Amp Live blend hip-hop and trip-hop beats with lyrics focused on a message of unity, hope, and spiritual awareness. After a couple of indie hits, the duo slowly made inroads while opening for rap royalty like De La Soul, Rakim, and Run-D.M.C. Their debut album, Mind Over Matter, was released in May of 2000 and features collaborations with fellow Bay Area rappers Rasco, Planet Asia, and the Grouch. Although Zion I operates out of Berkeley, the group was originally formed in Atlanta, making their music difficult to classify as strictly West Coast hip-hop. Their musical style makes them even harder to define. With a style that borrows from hip-hop, trance, drum'n'bass, and reggae, Zion I's style is equally mystical and mystifying.
Wake Self
If misogyny and materialism have kept you away from rap music, it’s time to give it another shot with Albuquerque based artist Wake Self, a man who represents a growing social conscience in Hip Hop. The complicated and driven MC is self-made when it comes to his career, and when he reaches inevitable success, he'll be taking his beloved home state with him.

He's shared the stage with countless notable acts, including Dilated Peoples, Blackalicious, KRS-ONE, Eyedea & Abilities, Chali 2na of Jurassic, De La Soul, Binary Star, Murs, Del the Funky Homosapien,Souls of Mischief, DMX, Masta Ace, and Mac Miller to name a few.

Frequently featured on Chuck D of Public Enemy’s website and internet radio. Wake’s debut solo album, The Healing Process, was released in 2013 and was met with endless positive accolades. It received over 50,000 hits online and was given a near perfect review in Ghettoblaster Magazine, and made album of the year lists on various blogs. He quickly followed up with his sophomore effort, Good Things Happen to Those Who Wake, which sold out of five physical pressings and resulted in thousands of copies sold. He’s been featured on The Source, Ambrosia For Heads, Sirius XM Shade 45 radio, Sway in the Morning, Ego Trip Land, 2DopeBoyz, HipHopDX, B-Real TV, MTV.com, Respect Magazine, Chuck D’s RAPstation and URB magazine. Provides the Entrance music for MMA Invitica sports fighter Amber “The Bully” Brown. Video for the song “New Mexico” went viral on Facebook with over 25k shares, half a million views and counting. He tours all over the U.S., Europe, The UK and Costa Rica, and is looking forward to adding more countries to that list.

In addition to his music career, he’s also active in the community, especially when it comes to leading the way for the younger generations. He represented New Mexico for the international event “The Power Shift” in Washington D.C. amongst leading environmental activist, engineers and leaders of environmental technology and justice. He also provides workshops throughout the southwestern U.S. to help troubled youth and aspiring youth by teaching songwriting, recording and encouraging positive expression as an outlet through music and art.
Mike Xavier
Mike Xavier is a gifted songwriter and performer who shares the struggles from his past and undying hope for the future with those willing to listen. His message is widely relatable as he recites rhymes of life, love, and hard times. Mike's purpose is to express life's emotions through music while inspiring others along the way.

Born in Los Angeles, CA, Mike was raised by a single mother of four. As a teenager, he faced a lot of adversity but turned to music as a release. Prior to relocating to Las Vegas, NV in late 2015, the single father of one had no place to call home. Oftentimes he would sleep in his car and had little to his name. He began driving for Uber and Lyft, where he shared his music with others while en route to their destination. The music resonated deeply enough for passengers to shed tears. He wanted a better life for his son and let that motivate him to make a change and move to Las Vegas.

His lyrical style is simple, yet profound. Often painting vivid pictures with lyrics, he fancies crafting meaningful songs for people across the globe. Similar to his musical influences such as Tupac Shakur and Jack Johnson, Mike Xavier has set out to make a change.

2017 has proven to be a rewarding year for Mike. With publications such as Vegas Seven's "Best New Rapper To Hit The Scene," and Las Vegas Weekly's "Artist to Watch," Xavier's relentless work ethic is paying off. He has quickly become known for his captivating live performances along side his band. After successful headlining shows in both Las Vegas and Los Angeles, Mike's current focus is recording his next full-length studio album and touring overseas.
Hassan Hamilton is Las Vegas Weekly's Best MC of 2014. His latest album "Da Fat Mamba" showcases his diverse background from the Vegas' local hip hop, rock and art scenes. Representing local Las Vegas independent label Rap Is Fun Records, Hassan breathes life into the local scene and beyond.
