These two legendary #NYC dance parties have been nothing short of controlling the hip-hop #party scene in the Big Apple for the last 14 years. These parties are NY. The people that go have been going since the beginning. And for one night only, both followings join forces to tear down #Brooklyn's epicenter of late-night fun, Brooklyn Bowl. We got a big sound system, we got a big dance floor, we got lotsa beer and whiskey, we even got bowling, and yes...We definitely got fried chicken!!!!!!!

The Rub deejays Colt Steele (Eleven) and Ayres Haxton go side-by-side, set for set, with the Freedom Party NYC's deejays Herbert Holler, Djcosi Levy and Marc Smooth. They'll play every sick dope super banging record from the '70s through today, from Aretha to Rihanna, from the Delfonics to Desiigner, we got everything--#soul, #funk, #hiphop, #RNB, #rock, #house, #disco, #motown, #80s, #90s, #pop, #reggae, #soca, #baltimore, #jerseyclub, #moombahton, #bounce/ #twerk, #yachtrock, #trap, freaking #dubstep...Whatever!

HOSTED BY artist/dancer/filmmaker Savior Elmundo!!!

THE FREEDOM PARTY® NYC is the longest running Friday-night dance party in NYC history! Created in 2003 by Herbert Holler, DJ Cosi and Marc Smooth, Freedom’s purpose is to bring different people together through a classic NYC dance party. Playing old-school hits with an emphasis on the 80s and 90s, be it hip-hop, R&B, pop, rock, reggae or house, Freedom fills its dance floor with people from all walks of life, all ethnicities, races, creeds and colors, from all over the world, looking to have fun, celebrate life, make new friends and be free.

THE RUB began in the summer of 2002, as a party where Brooklynites with good taste in music could come together, get wasted and dance until the wee hours of the morning. Even in that first year, it was clearly something special, garnering praise from the Village Voice (“best party in Brooklyn to dance sweatily to smart music”), New York Press (“best party in NYC”) and many others. Ten years later, the original formula still holds true: great dance music mixed well, affordable drinks, and real people; no dress code, no bottle service and no celebrity DJs.

Building on the consistently rammed club night, the Rub turned into more than a party, taking the show all around the world, moving hundreds of thousands of records and CDs, recording legendary mixes such as "The History of Hip-Hop" and racking up hundreds of episodes of Rub Radio. The Rub DJs have played shows with everyone from Gucci Mane to the Chemical Brothers, DJ Premier to Justice, adapting with the times but never forgetting the foundation of hip-hop, classic disco, funk and soul.

The Rub is the last Saturday every month at The Bell House.
