Silver Sound Showdown Music + Video Festival
The 9th Annual Silver Sound Showdown Music + Video Festival returns to Brooklyn Bowl on January 17th, 2018

Silver Sound Showdown is broken in two simultaneous events: A music + video festival AND a battle of the bands. We will showcase 21 of the best music videos and 5 of the best bands anywhere, ever.

The winning band and the director of the winning music video are paired to create a music video worth over $10,000 produced by Silver Sound.
Side Saddle
Side Saddle
Side Saddle started as solo folk project by Singer/Songwriter Ian McGuinness back in 2013. In early 2014, McGuinness released "The Postcard - EP" which received accolades from the likes of Baeble, American Songwriter and The Wild Honey Pie. The EP was engineered and produced by longtime friend TJ Dumser. Later that year Side Saddle released their debut LP, "The Astorian" and it was during the recording process that McGuinness' project evolved into the 6-piece indie-rock band it is now. This past summer, the band released an EP titled "Young Professional", which tells the story of love lost and love found in the concrete jungle of New York City. This record also marks a turning point in the bands sonic direction as the arrangements have become more elaborate incorporating a string quartets and a pedal steel guitar.
Side Saddle is:
Ian McGuinness - Vocals & Acoustic
TJ Dumser - Guitar & Vocals
Ryan Sniffen - Guitar & Vocals
Brendan Coughlan - Bass
Eric Tait Jr - Keys & Trumpet
Rich Bozek - Drums
Bark is Alessio Casalini and Alexey Artemov, a music collective based in New York City. The Duo came to life in 2014 drawing on various influences, love to intricate arrangements and experimentation.

In January 2016 they have released the debut self- titled EP “Bark”, a collection of 7 tracks each with a voice of its own and two music videos.

Each song is a collaborative effort featuring various singer-songwriters (including Amy Vachal – finalist on the show "The Voice", Season 9), talented musicians and composers.
For Montreal based band Videoman, the line between song and story is often blurred. By using their backgrounds in opera, literature, and creative writing, the four piece band strives for music that resonates on a personal level. Pasquale D’Alessio, an opera singer currently employed by Opera Montreal, employs haunting melodies reminiscent of Radiohead and The National.

After touring their debut album Colourblind with performances at Pop Montreal, Canadian Music Week, and The Horseshoe Tavern, the band caught the attention of artist and producer Patrick Krief. Videoman began work on what was set to be their definitive album, spending meticulous hours in studio, bouncing from Montreal’s iconic Mixart to Krief’s intimate home studio. The end result was Salt and Wine, an album that is at once nostalgic, wistful, and tragic.

Look out for Salt and Wine, and an accompanying string of Canadian tour dates in late 2016 / early 2017.
Gabrielle Sterbenz
Gabrielle Sterbenz
Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Gabrielle Sterbenz has just finished her second tour of the UK and Europe opening for rock band Wheatus (Teenage Dirtbag). She has performed in 10 countries on 4 continents as a solo artist and as a backing vocalist for Wheatus, Mike Doughty (Soul Coughing) and Robbie Dupree, with whom she appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. She is featured on Wheatus' Valentine LP, nerdcore hiphop artist MC Frontalot’s releases "Question Bedtime" and "Solved," and Late Cambrian's "Peach." Gabrielle plays regularly with her all-female band and has just released her eponymous LP produced by Wheatus' Brendan B Brown.
Band of Heroes
Band of Heroes
This is not another NYC based rock band. The sound is epic, the shows have an immersive, seamless flow, and the melodies will stick in your head. Combining the elements of rock we all love… classic, modern, and all points in between, shaping the Band of Heroes sound.

In full support of their self-titled debut EP and a growing list of singles, you can find the band performing at venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe Boston and the Brooklyn Bowl, and the Bitter End.

Members include J Gulinello (vocals, guitar, piano) Tom Binasco (guitar, keyboards, harmonica) and Matt Belardinelli (drums, percussion, vocals).
