The CCB Reggae All-Stars
The CCB Reggae All-Stars
Since emerging in 1996, the CCB All-Stars has been tearing up the underground New York reggae scene with sold-out performances at some of the city's hottest venues. Their annual Bob Marley Birthday Tributes and 4:20 cruises are some of the most popular reggae events in the country. The group's ability to play a wide variety of idioms, an inspired group of special guests, and their celebration of herban life and music have earned CCBlegions of inspired local fans, headline status at Boston's Freedom Rally and the Seattle Hempfest, and gigs backing diverse artists from Rita Marley to George Clinton. Junior Toots, son of Toots Hibbert, of the Toots & the Maytals is a uniquely talented recording artist and performer whose passion for reggae is evident in his moving live performances & recordings that inspire all.

Born and raised in Jamaica & the US, he has a genuine commitment to socially conscious lyrics and a determination to express himself sincerely from within. This passion can be felt through his deeply soulful vocal style that is reminiscent of his father.

With a mixture of Reggae, Roots, Ska, & Dancehall, Junior Toots reaches out to all supporters of conscious music with a message to unite & uplift. Beyond the sound of his voice, you can feel the positive vibrations that he shares from his heart & soul as he gets any crowd moving & grooving on the dance floor.

His new album, "A Little Bit of Love" (March 2012) is his finest work so far & is receiving lots of positive reviews.

Top Shotta Band
Top Shotta Band
Top Shotta Band is Brooklyn's newest rockers/dub reggae outfit. Led by trumpeter/producer djMush1 (formerly of the Slackers & Murphy's Law & currently of Tunnel One Radio [WNYU 89.1fm NYC], Al Paragus HQ studios/When Dance Was Nice, and Hungry March Band), the band features a 4-pc horn section, a full 4-person riddum section, and two percussion players, as well as the inimitable Screechy Dan [original Big Yard/Shaggy Posse] on vocals. With a powerful, soaring, and versatile vocal style, at times invoking r&b/soul greats such as Frankie Lymon, Screechy Dan's vocals have taken Top Shotta Band to the next level.

Top Shotta hits the listener with a wall of sound, featuring horn-laden rockers reggae, wet with reverb, echo and DUB. Top Shotta Band features original instrumental and vocal music written by the band, and in addition, brings new life to classic riddums with inventive soloing and heavy percussion.

With the spontaneity of a jazz outfit, and featuring all danceable riddums, as well as one of Jamaica's greatest dancehall vocalists, each Top Shotta Band performance is a unique and one-time only event - come hear for yourself!
Jah Culture (DJ Set)
Jah Culture (DJ Set)
JAH Culture was harvested from the mind of Walter Anthony Teperino, way back in the early 90’s at NYC’s world famous “Wetlands Preserve” (R.I.P.!). It was here, while working as part of the staff, Walter/JAH CULTURE was exposed to many incredible years of amazingly talented bands, musicians & artists who graced the stage (including The Cannabis Cup Band), and also, not to forget mentioning the incredible artists, musicians & behind-the-scenes folks who made up the Wetlands staff (who ironically, many are now part of the heart & soul of your awesome ROCKS OFF crew today). That environment nurtured the many years of being involved as a touring & recording drummer for Punk/POP band “Lady Luck” (w/ Denise Teperino-Miret (his sister) on Vox & Roger Miret of Agnostic Front on Bass), & was also touring drummer for Punk/Reggae band: “King Django” (Hellcat/Epitaph Records) for the “Reason Tour”. Various US, Caribbean, European tours and other minor shows later, while on a vacation to JAMAICA, DJ JAH CULTURE was formed based on a need to continue doing music while not in a currently touring band, & while also being exposed to
inspiring Jamaican Reggae & Dancehall culture. Upon returning to NYC/NJ, JAH Culture immediately started collecting records & purchasing turntables w/ the help & advice of longtime bredren & NYC DJ/Producer : “DJ GRAVY” (Rice & Peas NYC, & At the same time JAH
Culture also started acquiring sound system equipment & knowledge w/ the help of a longtime bredren & audio engineer by the name of “BANANA SOUND” (Fair Lawn, NJ). Banana & JAH Culture originally met back in the Wetlands days (where Banana was the in house audio company), and after years of being out of contact after Wetlands closed (the week of 9/11), they ran into each other again and have not stopped working together since on countless productions & shows (including many ROCKS OFF productions). JAH Culture Sound System & DJ/Selector JAH Culture is a touring
American sound system dedicated to widening international awareness of sound system culture. Its key goal is unifying people of all beliefs and backgrounds through the healing power of music. JAH Culture brings you upbeat musical entertainment and a positive mental vibe for ANY & ALL
occasions. JAAAH MON!!!
