Three Great Free Shows
You Shouldn’t Miss at
Brooklyn Bowl London

What’s better than getting to spend the night seeing a great show? Doing so at the low cost of FREE! And to that end, we’ve got three upcoming FREE shows at Brooklyn Bowl London that you definitely shouldn’t miss.

Horns are like bacon and everything’s better with bacon. So you can probably guess that a 10-piece drum-and-brass band is going to be excellent, which is exactly the case with Old Dirty Brasstards. Playing everything from classic rock (the Beatles) to current pop (Lady Gaga) to old-school R&B (En Vogue), not only will Old Dirty Brasstards (above, covering “Bad Romance”) have you moving in no time, they’ll also get your weekend — and your party — started this Friday at Brooklyn Bowl.

What would rock and roll be without songs like “Maybellene” and “Great Balls of Fire”? Fortunately, we don’t have to wonder. Two of the pillars of rock and roll, piano wizard Jerry Lee Lewis (80) and guitar hero Chuck Berry (89) have big birthdays next month. And we’re throwing a FREE party on 1 October at Brooklyn Bowl London to celebrate with London’s best rockabilly combo, the Camden Cats (above, playing “No More Water in My Fountain”) — Daniel Jeanrenaud (vocals and guitar), Little Man Kurt (bass), and Dan Bridle (drums) — joined by Geraint Watkins (piano). We can guarantee there’ll be a whole lot of shaking going on.

Inspired by the like of the Faces and the Rolling Stones, Jack Mercer (vocals), James Morgan (drums), Frankie Connolly (guitar), Ben Gittins (guitar), and Mike Delizo (bass) formed the high-energy rock five-piece the Carnabys (above, doing “The Pocket”) five years ago. Their debut full-length, No Money on the Moon (stream it below), arrived last year, and they just recently played their biggest headlining performance yet, the Isle of Wight Festival Reunion gig, on Tuesday night. But you can catch them for FREE on 7 October as part of our Brooklyn Bowl London Rising series — alongside XFM DJ Stunta Templeton, EditSelect, Stags, Johnny Lucas, Alex Lanyon, and Mary Dineen.
