Leftover Salmon
Come to Brooklyn Bowl
on Friday Night

Posted on Tuesday September 15th in

Playing what they call “polyethnic Cajun slamgrass,” Leftover Salmon formed in Boulder, Colo., about 25 years ago. The current lineup — Vince Herman (vocals and guitar), Drew Emmitt (mandolin, guitar, fiddle, and vocals), Greg Garrison (bass and vocals), Alwyn Robinson (drums), Andy Thorn (banjo and vocals), and Bill Payne (keys and vocals) — seamlessly walks the line between the bluegrass and jamband worlds, winning over fans of each, thanks to their high-energy, eclectic live shows. And while Leftover Salmon (below, doing “High Country” at the Ryman Auditorium) are well known for performing choice covers as a touring band, they still take time to record original music. Their most recent album, High Country (stream it below), came out last year, and it’s the first to feature Payne as a permanent member. How do the new tunes compare to their older ones? Come get your weekend started with Leftover Salmon
on Brooklyn Bowl on Friday night to find out.
