Monday nights in June at Brooklyn Bowl are Funk N Afrobeat Mondays, and we got two of the finest bands around lined up: Turkuaz and Zongo Junction.
What do you get when you combine a 10-piece full-frontal funk assault with a 12-piece West African-inspired ensemble? Well, I’ll tell ya. You get a kickass dance party. Things get live, people start jumpin’. You’re gonna wanna be there.

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band is a New Orleans, Louisiana, brass band. The ensemble was established in 1977 by Benny Jones together with members of the Tornado Brass Band. The Dirty Dozen revolutionized the New Orleans brass band style by incorporating funk and bebop into the traditional New Orleans style.
