// NEON INDIAN //
TIGERCITY
AWESOME NEW REPUBLIC
Doors 6:00pm :: Show 9:00pm :: 21+
SOLD OUT
An elusive new project from composer Alan Palomo from Vega. Neon Indian delivers equal parts synthetic nostalgia, dreampop lullabies, and grinding guitar noise to create something eerier than the sum of its parts. Forged after a hazy winter gathering in Texas, this initial batch of tracks were the result of field recordings, record samples, a collection of bizarre synth sounds. Soliciting the visual acrobatics of video artist Alicia Scardetta, this project is setting out to be a multimedia maelstrom. Orbiting around the themes of drug induced heartbreak, weary afternoons, and lost chances, this music provides a lush soundtrack to the deadbeat exploits of teenage ennui .

THE DEFIBULATORS
Doors 6:00pm :: Show 9:00pm :: 21+

Turns out, you don’t have to be German to dig David Hasselhoff. No, you just have to experience Fall on Your Sword to consider yourself a convert. Don’t worry, this expert A/V assault team won’t batter you with the Hoff’s tunes; their original electro-disco jams are paired with slyly edited video clips of vintage Hasselhoff buffoonery (think Knight Rider, and various unfortunate music-vid endeavors). Other tracks accompany equally hilarious clips, like a Captain Kirk-off featuring Shatner himself, and Oliver-singing robots. Tonight they hit Cameo’s Pulled Pork party, whose DJs Gunnie & T. Clute keep the dance party going after the live performance.

Glint was conceived by Jase Blankfort (NYC) and Mateus Tebaldi (Brazil) in New York City, quickly deemed an irresistible live act in the electronic art rock scene by Billboard Magazine. This acclaim was given when the project was in its early stages, as a duo consisting of Blankfort and drummer Tebaldi. Shortly after the release of Sound in Silence, Jase and Mateus met Alon Leventon (Tel Aviv), filling the role of keyboards and synthesizers, and bassist Dave Johnsen (Brooklyn). The group’s first show took place in Central Park in spring of 2008, followed by an immediate rise to New York’s prominent stages, and more recently, international demand. Operating independently through Rely Records, the label co-founded by Glint, the band first found the ears of the music media through Sound in Silence in 2008 produced by Blankfort & Tebaldi. Since meeting, Blankfort and Leventon have become musical conspirators and an innovative production duo.
