Glint was conceived by Jase Blankfort (NYC) and Mateus Tebaldi (Brazil) in New York City, quickly deemed an irresistible live act in the electronic art rock scene by Billboard Magazine. This acclaim was given when the project was in its early stages, as a duo consisting of Blankfort and drummer Tebaldi. Shortly after the release of Sound in Silence, Jase and Mateus met Alon Leventon (Tel Aviv), filling the role of keyboards and synthesizers, and bassist Dave Johnsen (Brooklyn). The group’s first show took place in Central Park in spring of 2008, followed by an immediate rise to New York’s prominent stages, and more recently, international demand. Operating independently through Rely Records, the label co-founded by Glint, the band first found the ears of the music media through Sound in Silence in 2008 produced by Blankfort & Tebaldi. Since meeting, Blankfort and Leventon have become musical conspirators and an innovative production duo.

Towards the end of 2006, three friends – Dave Okumu (Jade Fox, Matthew Herbert), Tom Herbert (Jade Fox, Polar Bear) and Leo Taylor (Gramme, Zongamin, Matthew Herbert) – started work on what was initially intended as Dave’s solo project. An exciting, beautiful album gradually emerged and during the process of its creation the three Londoners fused into a fully-fledged trio; The Invisible was born.

Drawing on influences as distant and diverse as John Lee Hooker, Canned Heat, Cream and underground psychedelic pioneer Michael Yonkers, Rumspringa’s daring blend of genuine early rock n’ roll with the familiar catchiness of modern influences also contains hints of old school and gangsta rap. Like the Amish practice of releasing teenagers to the outside world to experience the “devil’s playground”, the band’s new sound is sure to bring shock and awe to your comfort zone. “That’s why we declared ourselves to be on our own version of Rumspringa”, says front-man guitarist and vocalist Joey Stevens, “To step away from all the self-serving surface of the mainstream music culture, and to get back to the heart of discovering the soul of rock through the roots of its creation.”
