Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra (Record Release Party)
The Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra and the Brooklyn Bowl are proud to present
the WSO Debut Record Release Party. If you haven't heard, the WSO is a
thrilling 11-piece salsa band playing incredible arrangements of our
favorite indie rock tunes......read on:
The WSO's open-ended residency at the Bowl has brought the big NY salsa
orchestra sound back to Brooklyn while infusing it with a completely modern
identity. Instead of the tried-and-true salsa repertoire, the WSO plays
soley it's own explosive arrangements of indie rock songs by bands as
diverse as underground hardcore heros Fucked Up and superstars like LCD
Soundsystem and Arcade Fire.
Our first album, recorded at The Bunker Studio (The Black Keys) and mastered
by Scott Hull (John Mayer, Sting) will be released at the Bowl on Sunday
June 12, as we celebrate the music and especially the fans who have been
coming to Salsa Sundays and dancing with us. Having found a growing audience
of young salsa dancers, indie music devotees and curious party people, the
WSO is somehow uniting communities and making music for all. Come to our
Record Release Party and dance with us!
