Capital Cities
Capital Cities
Los Angeles indie electro unit Capital Cities first came together as a duo of composers/songwriters Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian. The two initially met on craigslist in 2008 and worked as jingle writers until they formed the band in 2010. They released an EP independently in 2011 that included the song "Safe and Sound," an upbeat mesh of programming and melody that went viral and gained the act a lot of Internet exposure. Eventually, Merchant and Simonian were joined by bassist Manny Quintero, trumpeter
Spencer Ludwig, guitarist Nick Merwin, and drummer Channing Holmes. The fully realized live version of Capital Cities played festivals internationally. Their debut full-length In a Tidal Wave of Mystery appeared on Capitol Records / Lazy Hooks in June 2013.

Written, produced and mixed by brothers Robert and David Perlick-Molinari, The Infinite Music… is a debut album that warps the fabric of dance, electro, rock and funk and may just turn out to be a contender for this year’s most ambitious, multi-faceted and engaging debut album. Crucially, the album also follows an intergalactic narrative that tracks the physical and emotional journey of an unknown French horn player. “There is a story running through the album, it’s about the Universe. We’re pretty clear on what the story is, but what you take away from it may be something entirely different,” says David.
The Brooklyn-based duo already had an illustrious pedigree; David produced MGMT's indie release, Time to Pretend EP for New York indie Cantora Records, and with previous single “Up All Night” they scored a Record of the Week on BBC Radio 1 and an opening slot on the influential Kitsuné Maison compilation series. The band have also remixed the likes of Sleigh Bells, JD Samson & MEN, Two Door Cinema Club, OMD and Alex Winston.

Shawn Ward (a.k.a. FM Attack) was originally discovered and signed by Tiga where he released on Turbo Recordings, a label that has released artists including Moby, Chromeo, Boys Noize, D.I.M., and Popof. His unique deep, funky house production was soon sought after, and Shawn went on to release a number of successful EPs on labels worldwide such as DIY Discs, Flat & Round, Tweekin, Polyphonics, Memorabilia, Fair Park and Tonite Recs.

His music has been remixed by the likes of Spirit Catcher, Jori Hulkonnen, Joey Youngman, and has been charted and supported by legends such as Mark Farina, Little Louie Vega, Laurent Garnier, Timmy Regisford and Kevin Saunderson.

Shawn has kept busy DJ’ing and touring the globe, rocking clubs and parties in Sweden, UK, Germany, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. A multi-talented musician inspired by 80’s synth pop, disco, new wave music and a love for analog synths, Shawn created his alias FM Attack and released the debut album "Dreamatic" in 2009 on Tonite Records. The album was received with critical acclaim, leading to remixes for artists including Pnau, Edwin Van Cleef, Electric Youth, Sally Shapiro, Tesla Boy and Trans-X.

FM Attack recently signed a worldwide publishing deal with Chrysalis Music and is currently recording the new Fm Attack album due for release in late 2012.
