Time as flown by and our one year anniversary has come and gone. Since opening, we’ve sold only the basic BB logo shirt… now it’s time to change that! We’ve teamed up with Creative Allies and are looking to our creative friends, neighbors and guests to help us create the second official t-shirt design for Brooklyn Bowl!
Please spread the word as we hunt for the next t-shirt design! The winner not only gets to see their work on the backs of the most stylish high rollers out there, but will also earn a sweet prize of $200 cash, 2 tix 2 any BB show and free bowling, too!
The Rules
Please incorporate Bowling, Live Music & Great Food. Designs are due September 30th at 5:00pm. Must be original work!
Brooklyn Bowl is continuing its Our World Campaign this month with a Brooklyn-based fund drive that celebrates summer, youth and special opportunities.
Camp Brooklyn works to send kids from the borough to sleep away camps in the tri-state area. Through generous donations, camperships are awarded to deserving children ages 7-16 to attend one of the many outdoor camps in the surrounding metropolitan area. Awarding children from such an urban environment as Brooklyn the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors, wildlife, and the starry night sky can change their lives forever. Now in its 8th year, Camp Brooklyn sent 403 children from the borough to great summer camps this summer.
Our World is a place to explore the problems and much-needed solutions facing this planet. Brooklyn Bowl will continue its dedication to sustainability and a green Earth by highlighting worthy causes each month.
In April 2010, a devastating oil spill wrecked the Gulf of Mexico. Just a month later, nearly 200,000 tons worth of crude oil now sit in Gulf waters. As it comes closer and closer to shore, we are reminded of our own waterways here in Brooklyn.
Did you know that the spill in the Gulf is not the first time big oil companies have devastated the ecosystems in which they exploit for oil and profits? Despite the large volume of oil left untended in the Gulf, there’s a body of water even more so contaminated just a few miles from our front door. Newtown Creek in Greenpoint is little known yet has a long history of pollution dating back to the late 19th century. The creek waters are filled with anywhere from 17 to 30 million gallons of oil, and untold amounts of additional pollutants from the factories that line its shore.
While in future months to come we will expand Our World to larger organizations nationwide and internationally, we believe that the dire situation so close to home is in need of some attention.
If you would like to get involved with some of the organizations heading up the fight for clean waterways, you can contact these great organizations and get involved in the neighborhood:
The esteemed Zagat Survey celebrates a full decade reviewing the nightlife scene, with the release of the 10th edition of their New York City Nightlife Guide. Big congrats to them for helping us find the best places to enjoy the best city in the world!!
We’re thrilled (to say the least) that the good folks who came by and reviewed us treated Brooklyn Bowl with plenty of love! We even won the top slots for NYC Music Venue, Bowling Alley, and Brooklyn Venue, with our appeal and decor rated “extraordinary to perfection” and our service “very good to excellent.” Very good to excellent is not good enough… we’re always working on improving our service!
An extra special thanks goes out to all our staff, friends, family, contractors, and beyond for all the support in bringing Brooklyn Bowl to life in the past year. What a year it has been!

On June 8th, the travelling circus that is Les Claypool’s solo act rolled through to Brooklyn Bowl for an epic night of debauchery. With a David Welker-designed poster available to the lucky few who arrived early, Claypool was at his best, running through an eclectic set of funky material. If you were able to make it out to the Bowl for this unique event, we want to know what you think! Send your photos to our FLICKR group, your videos to our Vimeo group, anything that helps show how much fun Les Claypool at Brooklyn Bowl really was. If you couldn’t make it, check below for a recap and a few pictures.
Here at Brooklyn Bowl, we’ve developed a bit of a reputation for taking the normal concert going experience…outside the box. This time, we’re really trying to out-do ourselves. In celebration of today’s big tour announcement, we’re hosting the boombastic kid-tastic YOGABBA GABBA featuring a live set by DJ Lance Rock this Thursday, May 20!!
It’s a private event, and we will not be selling any tickets for the show, even at the door. We kindly request to please not come and attempt to get in.
The ONLY way you’ll be able to go is to win them with this contest…
We’re offering up ONE PAIR OF FREE TICKETS to our Twitter and Facebook followers!!!

Thanks for everyone who came out and brought down the house with Snoop D-O-G-G. It was a full house last night, but hopefully you were able to throw back a gin & juice or two in honor of The Doggfather. We’ve seen some great photos and encourage everyone to upload their pictures to our Flickr group ‘‘Brooklyn Bowl’! From the Blue Ribbon grub, stiff drinks and cloudy haze in the air… Last night’s sold out show was a SUCCESS and we hope you all agree! If you missed it, the following is a Snoop (re)Cap… Enjoy!
