NFL Sunday Ticket Now at Brooklyn Bowl

September 25th, 2009

NFL Sunday TIcket

// NFL SUNDAY TICKET //

Sports at a live music venue? Live music at a bowling alley? A bowling alley with Blue Ribbon food?

While building what is now Brooklyn Bowl, these questions and countless more were tossed around quite a bit by our team, and not until we were up and running would we know if it all actually works.  After watching A-Rob blast a bottom of the 9th homer just before Bob Weir took the stage, or one night’s 13th inning bomb to the roar of 600 Galactic fans–or watching DJ Logic play an amazing live, improvised electronic jam with Steve Molitz on keys while the Jets Monday Night football game played on our 9 huge HD screens–there is little doubt left…

…It works!

As big thank you to all of our customers for all your generous support and insightful feedback as we’ve collaboratively figured this place out, we’re happy to announce we now have DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket.  Yes, that’s right.  We now have every single NFL game available for viewing at Brooklyn Bowl.  We currently have four boxes, so we can show four different games at once on any of our nine HD screens.

Monday, November 16th continues the Monday Night Football series.  As always, we’ll have early-bird FREE BOWLING from 6 – 7pm & food by Blue Ribbon til 2.

As always… Come early, and Stay late!!!

With Respect and Gratitude,

~The Brooklyn Bowl Team

Lebowski Fest Arrives at Brooklyn Bowl This Thursday!

September 23rd, 2009

lebowski

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH

// LEBOWSKI FEST //

Lord. You Can Imagine Where It Goes From Here.

Beyond celebrating the film with us, Lebowski Fest encourages ‘Achievers’ to live the film at our Bowling Parties. So rock your best costume: come Dudes, come Walters, come Maudes! Give us your best, and in exchange, attendees will be regaled with, you know, the usual: live music, trivia contests, White Russians, bowling… And the occasional acid flashback.

Brooklyn Achievers can abide on September 24th at Brooklyn Bowl. Those who purchase a ‘Bowling Ticket’ are entitled to one hour of bowling. If you’re dead set on throwing rocks, we suggest getting there early, ‘cause it’ll be first come first serve on lanes. This is not ‘Nam, Smokey; it’s Brooklyn Bowl. There will be rules.

When you’re not bowling, or for those who have non-bowling tickets, there will be plenty to do: between trivia contests and costume judging, Lebowski Fest has gone ahead and gathered a group of people who all have at least one thing in common (you all love The Big Lebowski, in case that wasn’t clear). Beyond that, Brooklyn Bowl features a Blue Ribbon menu with some of the best comfort food in town. Normally, people might judge you for chowing on some fried chicken while wearing your bathrobe… At Lebowski Fest, you will make a friend for life.

Mark it, dude.

Doors 6:00PM :: Show 9:00PM :: 21+

The Spring Standards first sang together in the last summer of the 20th century. The three teens with a common affinity for “oldies” music and harmony spent the better part of the next 2 years playing shows around the Delaware/Pennsylvania area. Influenced as much by their parent’s record collections, their style began to take shape into something a little bit both and a little bit neither. When high school graduation came along, their paths divided; years passed, but before they knew it they were all living within a few blocks of each other in NYC. James, Heather and James are all songwriters and multi-instrumentalists. They use their strengths as a trio to create a sound that listeners might expect from a band twice their size. With an emphasis on 3-part harmony and a variety of instrumental switching, their range and energy onstage make each live show a unique event. The band is currently releasing their debut EP, which they co-produced with Rhett Miller of the Old 97s.
